I spend too much time on Instagram, and I’m not in denial. I know why. I love pictures. Of cake. Since 2010 cakes have been my obsession, and in 6 and a half years not much has changed. I have two little girls who have only known me as a cake maker, and for someone who never thought this was what I’d grow up to be, it’s a little weird!

Anyway I digress! Apart from the difficulty I have finding the time to post new blog posts, I also felt like I needed to have at least some sort of narrative. That can be a challenge when often you only really get to know a small part of a big event and so I’m throwing caution to the wind and making some blogs that are really just an extension of my Instagram. I’ll be posting lots of pics, and maybe not so many words. Starting with the special day of C & D at Penshurst Place in Kent. Described as a fortified manor house, it felt like stepping back in time with it’s rich history and castle like feel.

24 Carat edible gold leaf was used to decorate the 2nd tier and the off-white top tier had all handmade sugar flowers, including Amnesia roses and a Blue Iris.
