Description
This one day intensive class with cover:
- How to split a cake into layers and the correct way to fill it
- How to ensure even layers (multiple methods)
- How to make white, milk and dark chocolate ganache
- Working with ganache and it’s consistencies + troubleshooting
- Covering a cake with ganache to create straight sides and edges
- Using sugarpaste to cover a cake and create sharp edges
- How to dowel and stack tiered cakes
- Creating sugar roses, colouring and dusting
- Making even polka dots
- Covering your boards and the use of cake stands for display
- How to create effective designs with simple methods
You’ll leave with your own boxed 2 tier cake, and we’ll provide the cakes ready made so there will be no baking in this course. We’ll provide all equipment but we do recommend bringing a pad and pen/pencil to write down any notes you’d like.
Tea, coffee, juice and water will be provided but we do not offer lunch. We recommend bringing your own (you’re more than welcome to heat up food) or buying something local. There are supermarkets and fast food places round the corner from our studio
