When iEvent sent over a detailed wedding cake and dessert table proposal for J&S, I was in love.
An intimate destination wedding set in a picturesque Irish castle with incredible flower arrangements, a formal dinner and all with an air of the Victorian. With their guests flying in from Honk Kong and Beijing, this was going to be a once in a lifetime wedding experience.
After meticulous planning from the ladies at iEvent the plans were coming together. Sketches flying back and forth, emails filled with pictures confirming which of our beautiful cake stands to use to complement the table layout. Our flights booked and accommodation sorted. Some more calls to the airline that our cake would be able to get through security unscathed, and yes this glorious cake had its own seat on the flight.
Luttrellstown Castle is a quick drive from Dublin airport so we checked in to our hotel to drop our hand luggage off and got to work. We’ve delivered to castles in England before but nothing quite prepared us for the drive up to the entrance. Fun fact, this is the castle Posh and Becks got married in.
The beautiful flowers from the team at Poppy Sturley were the perfect mix of ethereal and romantic. Tumbling foliage, giant blue hydrangea heads and silk ribbons in the bridal arrangements.
The interior of the castle was just as magical and the grounds and entrance.
The backdrop to the wedding cake and dessert table was the floor to ceiling windows in the Library at the Castle. An antique reading table was the perfect setting for the handmade desserts and Victorian styled hexagon cake.
A fabulous bouquet toss!
And after a quick outfit change for the evening party came the cake cutting.
