My first (and only!) styled shoot back in April 2012 went better than I expected. It was a collaboration with some really brilliant and talented London wedding suppliers. It was a modern 50’s styled shoot, colourful with lots of flowers and pom poms. It was blogged by Kat from Rock and Roll Bride (woot!), featured on Amy Atlas’ Sweet Designs and has been round the net since then. It was my dream to be featured by Amy Atlas, like seriously I’m having palpitations just thinking about it again.
Above is one of the original sketches of the table. I think its somewhat similar to what we got in the end, although the purple seems to have disappeared completely from the end result. It actually kinda looks like a rainbow vomited on a dessert table, so erm yeh.
The dessert table featured a 3 tier Ranunculus cake with a barrel/extended tier, triple chocolate cake, Victoria sponge, apple pie cupcakes, iced cookies/biscuits, bakewell slices, cake pops, trifle shots, chocolate and sour sour sweets. Everyone was so much fun to work with, and I really appreciate all the hard work and time everyone put it. I’ve been asked about how I made the Victoria sponge, its just the normal recipe of equal butter, sugar, eggs, flour. But of course it must be my amazing original method that gets it looking so damn perfect *cough*
